Yesterday, 28th was my elder sister, Kazumi's 32nd birthday. OMG, 32 sounds really really something and she is just one year and 8 months older than me... Anyhow, I did not send her a card or flowers, but I thought about her for a quite while last night. She has been, and is always like a super-star for me since... since I was born, I guess. She is pretty, very smart, and very funny. She does things I could never be able to do and she makes it look very easy.
Around her, I just cannot behave as I usually do, because I too much admire her, and feel that I could never be like her. But she always tries to be somehow serious with me, levels her to me, and tries to talk through me, so sometimes we have conditions like "do we ever get along?"
I know myself wanting a big "approval" from my family members, especially from my sister (who wouldn't want it anyway?) and it never happened (who would really "approve" someone in their own family anyway?). Then I think, well, it never happened ever since and it never will because there is no such a thing like "approval." I'm not getting my childish wish ever. So then I got a conclusion that, hey, I finally matured!
So, I guess this, maturity of me, is what my sister wanted from me for a long time. Happy birthday, Sis! I hope you liked my present! Sorry to be late, hope not too late.
Our Cougars (#21) ate Oregon Ducks (#15) alive today. The final score was 55-16.Here is the recap by ESPN. A video clip is also available for the streaming play on the same page (WMP is required). USC (#3) shockingly lost to Cal (Unranked) in the third OT. It is going to be a fun Pac-10 race this year.

The meeting I had today with Jill made me think. No, I had not prepared as she expected me to, and no, I was not able to write things as she thought I should be, but there were reasons. I have no intentions to tell the reasons to her because I don't think she wants to hear, and I basically understand what she really thinks. So I told myself, this is a learning process and nobody wants to see me fail. I'll just stay calm, listening to everyone carefully, accepting what I'm told. This is the way to get it through, this is the way to be a professional in the field.
I cannot believe that it's still September. I had a cup of hot coco this morning. The local weather channel is reporting that this winter is going to be seriously cold. I really hope that we won't have too much snow around here.
This week I have tons of appointments. Checking them off one by one, I'm coming very close to "it" to be totally over. Tomorrow is the busiest day of the week. Four important meetings and one long video-com class. Should prepare for now.
Got a pair of new Nike yesterday. I've been hurting my left foot because of my old shoes so I'm very glad I have new ones. Davis Cup is going on these days and finally the US team picked up the first win yesterday over Slovak Republic. Ahrh I wish I could play like James. He does things in a certain way of his and it's so elegant!
Cougs won over New Mexico by 23-13! Was too bad that we had only one touchdown, but got a 2-point conversion. Next week, cougs will face Oregon Ducks. The game will be on the ESPN at 12:30 pm (PDT). Ducks upset No. 3 Michigan today so - best wish to Cougs next week...
Akinori got a package from L. L. Bean yesterday. He got a pair of new shoes! Yay!
Got another package from Barnes & Noble today. Akinori orderd a book, "When Life Nearly Died - The Greatest Mass Extinction of All Time." I guess he is very much interested in this kind of stuff and even planning to do a research on this for his PhD. As for me, I got 2 city guide books about London and Tokyo. These guidebooks have a very cute looking and I'll post reviews about them soon, hopefully.
Though Amazon sells almost all books lots cheaper than Barnes & Noble, I more than sometimes prefer buying books from Barnes & Noble. Why? Because A., they have their retail stores nationwide and I like being there to browse books. B., So I got a so-called "Readers' Advantage" card from Barnes & Noble to get some prices off and it can be used online, too. and C., So I guess the marketing strategies that Barnes & Noble uses just captured this innocent (?) Japanese girl here!
